Waterslacks Camping Barn
Sleeps 15

"The barn is absolutely ideal for a walking/camping trip and has pretty much everything you'd need for a weekend away. The local area is very picturesque and there's a cracking local pub in Butterton."

Waterslacks Camping Barn is a traditional stone field-barn that has been converted into basic accommodation for larger groups. It has a secluded location on the edge of the steep-sided Manifold Valley and enjoys stunning views of the surrounding hills. It is a great experience for those who enjoy getting back to nature, or don't mind roughing it.

The large main area inside the barn has three large wooden sleeping platforms to accommodate 15 (guests bring along their own camping mats and sleeping bags etc). There is a curtain that can be pulled across to partition off two platforms for privacy.

The kitchen/dining area has picnic benches, storage units, a sink, fridge and slabs for cooking (guests supply their own camp-stove and cooking equipment etc). There is a wash basin and WC within the barn, and an electric shower, which is the only source of running hot water.

There is no central heating in the barn, but wall-mounted quartz heaters offer effective warmth in the main areas. Electricity is supplied through a meter (standard rate) that requires a £1 coin (weekend cost is about £15 -£20 winter, less in summer).

Outside there is off-road parking for around ten cars, (access to barn is down a walking track). A grassed terrace to the front of the barn has an area where a campfire is permitted (you can bring your own wood for the campfire).

We do offer additional guests to camp in the area at the front of the barn, but this is to be arranged as an additional cost at the time of booking. Pets are welcome to stay, but this is prior arrangement and limited (please state on enquiry)
